Weekday parking availability and cost varies by station and amount of time you park. Fares are collected upon exit during the following hours:

  • Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-12:30 a.m.
  • Friday 7:30 a.m.-2:00 a.m.
  • Saturday-Sunday and federal holidays: no fares collected except during special events

Ashburn and Loudoun Gateway parking facilities may have hours that differ from Metro standard collection revenue hours. Please reference fares and hours under station pages.

Current Parking Availability

Parking availability status is based on the real-time entry and exit at Metro lots or garages. It does not reflect where the cars park (spaces for reserved, paid, accessible, etc.). The status feature provides customers with an estimate of available spaces, not an exact count.

    - ample parking spaces are available.
  • Limited
    - a limited number of parking spaces are available.
  • Full
    - no parking spaces are available.

Parking availability does not include reserved or accessible parking spaces and applies only to Metro-operated parking lots and garages. As we work to improve Metro facilities, some spaces may be temporarily unavailable.

Park & Ride daily parking

  • Cost/day: Mon. - Fri. $5.20 / $8.70*
  • Payment: SmarTrip and credit cards
* In order to qualify for the lower daily parking rate, you must: a) take a valid Metrorail trip using a SmarTrip card (physical or mobile); b) use that same card to pay when exiting the parking facility; and c) travel a minimum of two stops [in total]. You must also exit the parking lot within two hours after your ride has been completed. If you use your credit or debit card as part of Tap. Ride. Go., you will be charged the non-rider rate.

Additional spaces and costs

  • Metro daily parking is available at the parking lot east of Rockville Pike on Marinelli Road.
  • There is a curbside taxi stand on Marinelli Road outside of the Station.
  • Obey signage along Marinelli Road in front of the Station identifying no stopping and no standing areas.
  • Pick-up and drop-off is permitted in the no parking zone along the curb immediately in front of the parking garage on Marinelli Road.
